I love connecting to collaborate on creative solutions to make living spaces as beautiful and unique as the people who occupy them. My work begins with a photograph which is combined with beeswax, pigments, and oils. This process adds a dream-like and ethereal feel to the work. My work has an abstract feel and isn’t too literal, yet they have narrative elements that are reminiscent of the original image. I use rich imagery, bold brush strokes, and playful drops to create paintings full of gesture and spontaneity. The work holds a sense of mystery and intrigue for you to fill in the narrative.

Don't Want to See Your TV?

During the pandemic many of us  wouldn’t have traded in our Netflix account for anything—but there is no reason the unsightly big black box has to remain in full view 24/7.

More and more of us are looking for creative solutions to incorporate a sleek clean way to keep our TV’s out of sight—when not watching—yet easily accessible when it’s time to press ‘play’.

But many of the solutions in the marketplace don’t always fit our specific size or aesthetic. Case in point, our giant flat screens.

Here’s how I can help.

Custom oversized art.

Not only is oversized art eye-catching and dramatic, but it offers plenty of space for you to conceal a television whether it be on sliding panels, cabinet doors, or bi-folds.

Give me a holler at info@clareoneill.com to talk about how we can work together on a bespoke piece for you.

Let's Collaborate Together

1. Determine Size

Since this is completely bespoke you can choose the size that works best for your space.

2. Discovery

We’ll discuss the look and feel of the piece you want. We’ll go through samples of my work, do some sketches, talk about color palette and determine together a plan and timeline.

3. Choose Image

I have thousands upon thousands of photographs that can be used for your painting. If you want a custom shoot of your horse or loved one that can also be arranged. (Since the image becomes part of the artwork and is not a rendering, I only work with images I have taken myself.)

4. Create Art

This is where I make creative decisions and put my instinct and spontaneity into creating the piece for you.

Clare O’Neill is a Minneapolis based artist whose work is created by slowly building up a surface with multiple layers—using bold brush strokes and playful drips to create backgrounds full of gesture, spontaneity, and motion. Her work is large, so the photographs are printed on tissue paper in multiple pieces, and then carefully embedded into the layers of hot beeswax.
